    1992 Presidential Debate

I was just watching the 1992 presidential debate on CSPAN and was blow away by Ross Perot.

My family resented Perot for years because they thought that he cost Bush Sr. the election, which in a sense he probably did because most of his 19 million votes would have likely went to Bush. The "read my lips" saying probably put the fork in him more than anything though.

However, that son of a gun absolutely knew what he was talking about and the problems he was harping on in 92 are coming to roost now. Huge national debt, enormous government, corruption by lobbying, and emphasis on infastructure.

Had Bloomberg entered this race I believe that he could win. This country really needs a Perot type now instead of a traditional (R) or (D) candidate.

    Ron Paul is to extreme.

Perot was a pragmatist on every issue.

I like Ron Paul, don't get me wrong, but with a globalized economy, an isolationist ideology will kill an already sick economy.

And the system set up now is working so nicely. America needs Ron Pauls approach.

Bloomberg is more liberal than Obama or Clinton.

Wish I could have gotten close enough to spit on him in Norman last year.

Probably true, but on fiscal policy is very conservative and does not bring in the partisan cloud.

He is probably almost as conservative as McCain.

A third party candidate will NEVER win an election.
